About Clomid
Clomid carries strong anti-estrogen properties that could be used effectively used with anabolic steroid use. Testosterone and many testosterone derived steroids have the ability to convert to estrogen through testosterone’s interaction with the aromatase enzyme. By supplementing with Clomid during anabolic steroid use, the SERM will inhibit the estrogen hormone from binding. This can be very useful in combating gynecomastia as well as water retention.
Because of Clomid’s Estrogen antagonistic effects on the hypothalamus resulting in the increased production of gonadotropins LH and FSH, Clomid can effectively be utilized to increase endogenous Testosterone production in males. This is especially important for anabolic steroid using individuals that wish to restore proper hormonal function during the weeks following the conclusion of an anabolic steroid cycle, a period known as PCT (Post Cycle Therpay).
Clomid, however, is most beneficial to the anabolic steroid user post anabolic steroid use, referred as Post Cycle Therapy (PCT). Clomid has the ability to stimulate enhanced natural testosterone production. This is extremely beneficial to the anabolic steroid user post cycle as natural testosterone levels will be very low due to suppression caused by anabolic steroid use.
Clomid Side Effects
Clomid may cause headaches. Other side effects which are linked with Clomid include nausea and hot flashes. As well, it may cause uterine bleeding in women, although this particular side effect is considered to be rare. In addition, women who use Clomid may notice discomfort in their breasts.
One other possible side effect to be aware of is visual disturbances. Studies show that one and a half percent of people who utilize Clomid experience visual disturbances. For example, their vision may become hazy or blurry while they are taking the medication. People who do experience visual disturbances should stop using Clomid. A physician should be able to prescribe an alternative that serves the same purpose and doesn’t negatively impact vision.
Generally, visual disturbances will cease when a person stops taking Clomid. However, it’s possible that visual disturbances will persist even after usage of this prescription medication is concluded. When Clomid-related problems with vision persist, it’s usually because Clomid was utilized over a longer time frame than average, in a higher dosage than average. People who have blurry or hazy vision while using Clomid should stop taking it and ask their doctors for other SERMs (selective estrogen receptor modulators).
People who take Clomid may also develop acne. In particular, those who use the drug during post-cycle therapy (PCT), may be likely to develop pimples. When used in post-cycle therapy (we’re referring to anabolic steroid post-cycles), it’s not always Clomid that triggers complexion problems. Sometimes, it’s the fact that big amounts of testosterone are being produced naturally. However, Clomid may play some role in the development of acne, which may appear on the shoulders, chest or back, whether the user is involved with anabolic steroids or not.
Clomid Administeration and Uses
Clomid is fairly effective at staving off gynecomastia. It won’t reduce estrogen levels or inhibit the aromatization process, but in many cases, binding to the receptors is enough protection for many men. For the hardcore anabolic steroid users, Clomid is not enough for estrogenic protection. In this case, an Aromatase Inhibitor (AI) such as Anastrozole or Aromasin will be needed.
Using Clomid can also have a positive impact on cholesterol levels. Clomid actually acts as estrogen in the liver, which in turn will promote healthier cholesterol levels. This can be very beneficial to the anabolic steroid user as anabolic steroid use is notorious for promoting unhealthy cholesterol levels.
Those who use anabolic steroids in order to access estrogenic protection usually take fifty milligrams of the drug, just as women who want to conceive do. Steroids users will take fifty milligrams all though their cycles. If anabolic steroid users don’t get good estrogenic protection from Clomid, they may find that upping their dosages doesn’t change anything. Sometimes, steroid users who don’t get good results from Clomid get better results with another SERM, called Nolvadex. Another option which is popular with steroid users is the aromatase inhibitor, Arimidex.
Standard Post Cycle Therapy (PCT) Clomid doses will normally start at 100-150mg per day for 1-2 weeks. From here the dose will drop to 50-100mg per day for 1-2 weeks and finish with 1-2 weeks at 50mg per day. Total Clomid therapy should last 4-6 weeks, so dosing should be based and considered on that total schedule.
A solid PCT plan will ensure you have enough testosterone for proper bodily function while your levels continue to naturally rise. For this purpose, Clomid is one of the most commonly used PCT medications.
